Flor do Céu is a one-of-a-kind in Rio: perched atop the Chácara do Céu favela community close to Leblon, its airy terrace boasts stunning views of Praia do Vidigal and out across the sea to the Cagarras Islands. Seasoned eater-outers will know that the general rule is that good view = terrible food, but Flor do Céu is an exception.
Italian chef (and all round lovely bloke) Tobia Messa, and his team produce simple yet exquisite Italian inspired dishes, using fresh seafood and locally grown produce. There’s no meat on the menu, but you won’t miss it. Sit back and drink in the views with a bottle of wine or a cocktail, and let the tranquility of the surroundings soak in.
