Photo Post: Yep, that’s where I’d park too…
You’ve got the entire car-park to yourself, in front of this monster-sized piece by Toz (the largest mural in Rio). Where are you going to park?

Ahhh I love these kind of murals! It’s funny, because you don’t see this style (don’t even know how to describe it, really) outside of Brazil that often….
I think murals like these are the perfect answer to making those horrible ”empena cegas” found all over the place look better. (Empena Cegas are those walls that don’t have any windows on them, because it’s possible that another building be built right along side it.)
Sign up some parts of Zona Sul and all of Centro and Zona Norte for these, please!
Yes, they transform a dull, grey wall into an interesting feature that everyone likes to look at. Hopefully more will be appearing soon! :)
I see your point; but notice how the cars parking beside the mural are taking advantage of the shade.
Off topic: I think the void located on the top mid section of the mural (with the beige building in the background) takes away from the art work. Perhaps they could use a neutral white on that beige wall thus enhancing the mural and at least harmonising the color of that backdrop with the art work (since neutral white goes pretty much with everything). This is just an observation (so Alex please do not sneak into said building and paint that section white while wearing a sunga).
I hadn’t really notice the gap before. Now you’ve ruined it for me Gritty! Alex, go grab your sunga and a paintbrush – you know what to do! ;)
Tom, careful what you wish for (I can already picture Alex being arrested for trespassing and, with brush in hand and a polka dot sunga on display, saying to a reporter “Tom from eatrio.net inspired this, bail me out Tom!”.
Ah well, it would be good exposure (for the blog, not Alex…)
Beautiful murals. I always love those kind of murals, so much fun, and they always lighten up ugly city spaces!
Yes, it’s so nice to have such a big splash of colour isn’t it?
