Verdict?

So, what do you think? Please be kind! I’ve been mulling over the idea of a move away from blogger for a while and decided today was the day to finally take the plunge.

There are a few  things I should say:

  • Take a look at the top-left of the page – you should see the Feedburner,  Twitter and Facebook icons. Click these to get fully EatRio connected – all the cool kids are doing it!
  • There may be one or two broken links in my old posts – Blogger and WordPress do things a little differently and I need to check through every old post to iron out a couple of probleminhas. If you spot anything that isn’t working, I would be eternally grateful if you tell me about it.
  • big thank-you to my very talented sister who single-handedly did all the fancy design stuff you see here.

So that is it for my first proper post at the new home of Eat Rio. I hope you like the pictures from my sister’s website – somehow she got all the creativity and I got to work with computers… Life can be so cruel!

Thanks Alex! It still feels a bit funny being here – ridiculous as it probably sounds, I felt at home with the old site and this new one is still a bit scary and strange. But I’m sure I’ll settle in and work everything out.

    Volte sempre! :)

    Hi Tom,

,I think the previous setting over at blogger was placid while this one conveys a certain vibe of excitement. The information offered to the reader–where to stay, things to do, etc– is better organized over here and the moving graphics undernaeth the header are in very good taste . I really like this new setting, I would only consider removing some of the images in the center of the header so the city is better visualized. It seems that the grafitti, assisted by the Tesoura Bird, leads one to look towards the middle of the header and the same effect appears to happen with the image of the boy and the table on the right hand side, I wonder if the header with only these elements (perhaps leaving the museum over at the lesft hand side as well) would not merge better with the city in the background. Unfortunately this would mean goodbye to pimentas, grains, car, mate dude and the monkey.

Hooray! You’re the first person to notice what I recently learned is called a ‘Favicon’. I made it in a bit of a hurry the day before I switched over and I think there could be room for improvement! Maybe there will be a bejia-flor 2.0 sometime soon – I’ll probably do it when I have something else really important to do (procrastination is a skill of mine!).
